Sunday 22nd of June, 2008 Tone 12 - Caban

La Ka Tone Twelve

understanding and communication

Aztec god of the morning star who rules the just before dawn.

Caban, Earth is an introspective energy

powerful creativity and insight into ancient wisdom

Tone 12 La Ka in combination with Caban, Earth or Earthquake, seems to be an internal, cerebral time.

Twelve has a vibration of understanding and communication, while Caban is deeply introspective. Thought process and all it's elements are intellectualized to bring certain ideas that may be scattered into a cohesive whole, for the betterment of existing structures. It is a good time to change bad habits or to offer your help to someone who may be trying to.

Do watch out for a bad temper, sensitivities can run high!

As we move along the calendar we notice our perspective becomes wider, enabling a broader understanding, creating deep resonance with the earth and her forces to serve the whole.

It was Gemma's birthday today and she invited me to lunch with her and her boys. Afterwards I walked past the Grote Markt and came upon the Haarlem Cultuur podium beside the Grote Kerk. Normally on Saturday it is a busy market. There were young dancers on the podium. I believe it was young turkish girls in traditional dress doing a traditional dance.

While snapping the above photo I felt something hit the side of my leg and when I looked down I saw this little cherub. cute kid.

Further along the Grote Houtstraat, the main shopping drag, a very decent band was playing. They were really good actually and had a pretty full sound with just the two of them.

I have no idea if this is a real instrument or one he fashioned himself but it sounded amazing.

This is from the funny felt store called Jannson i believe. It is a bag made of aluminium can tops. It's shiney.

Sunday 15th of June, 2008 Tone 5 - Oc

Ho, Tone Five represents empowerment.

This tone tends toward intelligence and skillful organizational abilities. Network and gather exactly what's needed for projects and new ventures today, investigation is fruitful.

Ho is ruled by Tiacolteotl, the Aztec goddess of love and children

Oc (ahhk) or Dog is the 10th day sign bearing a fearless Northern energy.

Dogs have a strong sense of justice and loyalty with a fierce ability to protect. They are keen, alert team players but can just as easily take on a leadership role.

Team playing and cooperation empower anything you busy yourself with this Sunday. There is a playful energy so participation in group activities will be especially rewarding. A sense of duty or collaboration with others may take you away from a lazy sunday but you just may find out some useful information from those you come into contact with. Warm heartedness and playfulness rules the day regardless of the call of duty or participation in group activities.

Spot the cool tree shadow

It was one of the top ten best spring days this year, possibly the last 10 years. The sun was warm, a slight cool breeze in the air, and NO humidity. Heaven. Just like the lemon taarts at vlaamsch brood huys.

This is my acquaintance and client Pam (dressed in black and white). She is working at our newly opened L'Occitane. I'm glad she is working there, it's nice to see a friendly face when shopping. I bought the Amendel shower oil. It does wonders for the skin.

They also have a new Riz or Rice face regimen. It is made with wonderful organic red rice in the Camargue. I am trying it out, my skin changes in the warmer temperatures. I will keep you posted.

Pluk is the new juice bar in town, don't forget a broodje. I love the idea of a juice bar finally hitting the mean streets of Haarlem, but I havent been able to cross the pepto-bismal pink just yet, im sure it will neutralize, the eyes just have to adjust. the price one must pay for pressed and/or blended fruit.

Among a slew of new winkels recently opened is Cook & co. The store is two floors of magnificent neat & clean with plenty of space to move and turn. It is stocked with everything a kitchen could possibly need and something for every price range. I definately liked it and someday I hope to purchase a few things.

I guess I havent been to enough cocktail parties lately because I didnt know about the prefab appetizer spoons. Depending on the taste this may be one of the cooler things i have seen, put a bit of fur around it and it's art!

And last but most definately not least, an explosion of color. Not that there's anything wrong with it...

Really mean swan daddy

Jack anxiously awaiting the command to cross the street.

We are headed to a near by park. It isn't his favorite but it will do.

Frisbee is the order of the day.

Jack has spotted trouble.

It's a really mean swan daddy. His family is nesting on the otherside of the pond.

We are gracious enough to stay on the opposite side but it doesn't seem to satisfy the really mean swan daddy. He just puffs up and is successful in making jack leave his bath.
Meanwhile back at the ranch rekel is perched on my new quilt. He looks rather comfortable and since he has been brushed thoroughly, I did not see the need disturb him.

Just a pretty tree in bloom in a near by garden.

Spring hopes eternal

On saturday I attended a play by the Wereld kinder Theatre. I painted the symbols on the costumes.

I received these lovely roses for my efforts. They smell wonderful.

This is what is happening in my neighborhood...

... my very tiny garden

...with Jack and the neighbor's dog who just happens to be called Jackie.

Jack was thirsty after his walk in the Amsterdamse bos.

Very thirsty

Brilliant

Some really lovely buildings around my atelier. I am heading towards the shopping centrum to pick up some art supplies.
Enjoying the sights once I arrive.
Last saturday in an old street in Haarlems center a small fire in a "massage parlor" broke out. For some reason known only to rocket scientists, the helicopter was using infrared to see where if it was spreading decided to land in the small street. His propeller hit a lampost broke off and flew into another building so he jerked the helicopter upward but fell directly back to the ground as he noticed he couldn't fly without all of his propeller.

A rose by any other name

These beauties were given to me by my tarot client today. They are the biggest roses I have ever seen and the third bunch I have received in the last two weeks. I'm out of vases!
On Monday at the Grote Markt is a market of material and sewing accessories. I picked up some strong canvas to paint on today. It was a beautiful sunny day and the temperature was much warmer than the last few days.

Ode to the solar eclipse

Stone du jour is the Sunshine Aura crystal. Made in a lab artificially bonded with gold and platinum. It still has a place in the Crystal Bible so I think it's legit.
It is a powerful stone that activates the solar plexus. It helps to release old emotional trauma. It also relieves constipation on all levels and releases toxins. And it's pretty too!
Instead of a crucifix, many Dutch churches have a rooster atop the steeple. What's up with that Vance?
I did a house blessing today for a friend and her new pad. So I made her a house blessing candle.

Untitled

Space is a commodity. I love the idea of doing something with what you've got.
I made a magic candle today. It's a bit off center but the intention was good. It's been a long time since I made one so I am a bit out of practice. This one is for gratitude.

Nuts and Bolts

The neighborhood behind my atelier is beautiful. This building has been derelict for years and if i had the funds I would restore it and move in immediately.
A short walk across the small gracht and you are in the center with interesting streets. This is one thing that attracted me to holland, I suppose.
Enjoy!
While shopping for vitamins I nipped into this arts and crafts store for a drawing pad. In the window was a small village and all the villagers were made of felt. creepy
This fine block of metal sculpture is held together by nuts and bolts, or is it? It may be a bit difficult to see with the reflections on the window and the whole time space continuum thing.
