Dark days of December

This used to be a big street market.
It started to shrink a few years ago and now it's only the essentials.
Jack goes for the chew bones

Perhaps it is the New Yorker in me,

but I have an affinity to old dutch architecture.

The neighborhood yacht club.

1) Only in Holland. Why on earth would you visit a bloody market when it's wet, cold, wet, windy and wet? Huh?! I'm surprised there's actually anything left of that market. Markets are outdoor happenings. They should make a law against outdoor shit like that during the winter. I'm willing to make an exception for the weihnachts market though.

2) A lot of people love old dutch architecture. Amsterdam also has a lot of it, even in our old hood. The Dutch had some great architects. Unfortunately they're all dead or they move to countries where people are actually willing to pay for their great ideas.

3) The yacht club pic made ma laugh a lot.

4) Jack and bubbleboy always make me go "aaahhhhhhh" :-)

Only 5 pictures but this is a very entertaining entry I must say!

What a lovely post! OLD Dutch architecture is wonderful, I stand by my claim that it all went down the toilet after World War II, possibly even after World War I, everything before that was excellent.

Jack and Sneezer are like twin brothers, just like that movie Twins, with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny De Vito!!!

i have become amphibias, water resistant. evolution is a crazy thing.
i think it is odd how they try to fit in the modern next to the old style. i will try to find some examples.
thanks viki, where is your blog about the club and the dances and the beautiful costumes. would be very nice to read about.
