Monday 16th of June, 2008 Tone 6 - Chuen

Uac tone Six

Representing flow and movement of volume through space, creating time. This is a day of activity and motion. Today there is the possibility for dynamic development and improvement in every aspect of life.

Uac is ruled by Mictlantecuhtli, The Aztec god of death

Chuen or Monkey is the 11th day sign and has a colorful Western energy.

Monkey intertwines new ideas, patterns or inventions into the fabric of reality creating possibilities for life changing products and patterns. (Dr. Calleman) Begin anything new today!

Practical jokes, charm and generousity are the order of the day. One may have the desire to be the center of attention and it is the silly actions that will get you noticed. Artistic expression and curiosity lends itself to constructive solutions. This is a good day to negotiate, charm and express your ideas or goods with buyers or the public. Short attention spans may keep you swinging from one thing or idea to another, try to stay focused!

...and now for something completely different

This morning was magnificent. Big fluffy clouds blew past a warm sunny sky, but never stayed too long!

This little tree is responsible for the sweetest scented air I have had the pleasure of breathing in.

Later in the afternoon we had lunch with our friend Douwe. He is the owner of Jacks very best friend. We had fun.

We had lunch in Zaanstad, this is de Zaan.

Fashion and Flowers

A bag to match your shoes nic.

Magical golden sneakers. The wearer becomes invisible, most likely because the viewer is blinded by the glare.

Endless fields of tulips

Spring hopes eternal

On saturday I attended a play by the Wereld kinder Theatre. I painted the symbols on the costumes.

I received these lovely roses for my efforts. They smell wonderful.

This is what is happening in my neighborhood...

... my very tiny garden

...with Jack and the neighbor's dog who just happens to be called Jackie.

Jack was thirsty after his walk in the Amsterdamse bos.

Very thirsty

It's beginning to look a lot like Easter

It is the coldest Easter in Holland since 1964.

The last few days there was wind, snow, hail, rain, sleet, thunder and sun

Good thing these flowers are strong enough to handle this wonderful spring weather.

A bit of cabin fever, Rekel and sneezer having a brotherly fight.

Enkhuizen

Some very ornate buildings.
A very small part of the marina. In the 17th century it was a very important harbor for the Dutch east indies trade.
Eventually it lost out to Amsterdam. There is a lot of tourism.
Someone turned the lights on.
The 17th Century tower Drommedaris I believe. If it isn't don't yell at me.

Goats, Sticks and Nudity, Oh My!

This isn't the Black Forest, no it's a dark day at the goat farm in Amsterdamse Bos.
The goats had the day off, so no organic goat cheese for us.
So we headed off in search of sticks.
This one was much to small. It was rejected immediately.
Theodore Roosevelt made the West African phrase famous "Speak softly and carry a big stick", well this big stick didn't make it too far but only because I forbade it, not because he didn't want it.
So many trees become ill here.
The Naked Recreational Terrain (tee hee) is forbidden to dogs between the beginning of April to the beginning of October.
Children should remain close to their parents at all times and apparently schnauzers aren't allowed at all!

Blue Sky

and just like that, the sun comes out
This was taken about 10:30 a.m.
so everything was still fresh and clean

Driving to Arnhem, the trees looked like clouds on the ground.

There was plenty of skating going on.

It was stunning.

Upon my return I had a hot chocolate

Jack had a nap

Frosted flakes

a very frosty crispy sunday morning in the Amsterdamse bos

jack waiting patiently to run to the lake? He won't run out of my sight but when water is involved he can get a bit impatient.

a pond somewhat frozen over

jack and banjer playing tug of war

the light in Holland is beautiful, Joan Collins couldn't ask for better filtered light.
